Empowering individuals with chronic health conditions through sports is MOVEP’s focal point. It aims to enhance their well-being and physical fitness during the European Week of Sport. Specialized trainers and medical experts provide guidance, fostering a legacy of inclusion and improved health outcomes.

The MOVEUP project aims to bridge the gap between medical management and holistic well-being. By combining tailored exercise programs, progress tracking, and community support, we empower individuals to take charge of their health journey. The key components of the program proposed by the project are: Personalized programs to suit each person’s abilities and limitations. Thus, we will have adapted team sports such as walking football, walking basketball, and catchball. Community engagement and connecting with others who share similar health challenges are invaluable. Collaboration with healthcare professionals in a holistic approach will be done through close engagement with physicians, physiotherapists, and nutritionists. Certified and experienced trainers and coach experts will provide guidance on proper form, intensity, and modifications and will inspire users to push their limits while respecting their boundaries.

From a scaling-up perspective, we envision expanding our program to reach more individuals at the EU level through partnerships with sport federations and associations, corporate wellness programs, and community centres that will facilitate wider access. UEFA, the Italian Basketball Federation, and the International Catchball Federation will accelerate the expansion, as promised in their letters of support. In conclusion, the MOVEUP program isn’t just about exercise; it’s about fostering resilience, camaraderie, and hope. Together, we redefine what it means to thrive despite chronic health challenges.
