We are proud to present the first of the 4 projects funded in 2022 during the Kick Off meeting held in Bari at the PalaCarrassi (Bari), which has become the "Hub of European projects" presented by the MSV over the past two years. The AoABR project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union. Thanks to the collaboration of Pink Bari Basket, the patronage of the FIP Puglia Regional Committee and the active collaboration of CIA Puglia, we have brought a project for the training of young #basketball referees to the Apulian territory for the first time at European level. Alliance of Amateur Basketball Referees will be implemented in partnership with 5 European organizations: 1) Sportsko Udruzenje Tvrdjava (Serbia) 2) KOM 018 - Club for Youth Empowerment 018 / Klub za osnaživanje mladih 018 (Serbia) 3) Barcel'hona Sports Events (Spain) 4) CroHoops Amaterska Košarkaška Liga (Croatia) 5) Aps Asd Margherita Sport and Life (Italy) The project will have a duration of 12 months in the period 01.06.2022 – 31.05.2023 with the general aim of promoting transnational cooperation in the field of amateur basketball among young European referees. The objectives of the project are: - Develop a new methodology for the training of amateur basketball referees. The goal will be achieved through the preliminary meeting during WP1.3/WP1.4 - Development of the training module for referees. This activity will provide young athletes and players with the improvement of skill expertise and skills/competences among young basketball referees; the objective will be achieved through the WP1.5 "Organisation of international training" which will bring together 40 participants from 4 participating countries. - Establish the Network the Alliance of Youth Basketball Referees. All project activities will lead to the achievement of this objective which will be finalized through WP1.7 The project will provide a set of skills for basketball referees, focusing especially on young players by offering them an alternative after finishing their basketball career .
